Åfors art glass bowl model 1739 “Lila” Swedish glass design 1960-70s

Swedish art glass bowl from Åfors Glasbruk in Småland. The bowl is made of thick clear glass with a melted-in aubergine-purple color core and an organically undulating shape.

The design is characteristic of Swedish studio glass from the 1960s-70s, where color fields were encapsulated in clear glass and freely shaped while hot. The shape makes it suitable as a decorative glass bowl, art glass, or a small fruit bowl.
