Åfors art glass bowl model 1739 “Lila” Swedish glass design 1960-70s

Swedish art glass bowl from Åfors Glasbruk in Småland. The bowl is made of strong clear glass with a fused aubergine-purple color core and an organic wavy shape.

The design is characteristic of Swedish studio glass from the 1960s-70s where color fields were encapsulated in clear glass and freely shaped in heat. The shape makes it suitable as a decorative glass bowl, art glass or small fruit bowl.
