Antique silver-plated candlestick in Victorian style – approx. 1850-1900 – 31.5 cm

Large and impressive antique candlestick made of silver plate with beautiful Rococo and Victorian-inspired acanthus ornaments.
The candlestick features an elegant silver patina, where the warm copper-colored core shows through in places, bearing witness to its age and history.

The candlestick was likely made in the second half of the 19th century and has several details seen on older quality candlesticks, including a weighted iron base, a removable candle insert, and small exhaust holes at the candle cup, which made it easier to remove burned-down candle stubs.

Its substantial weight of 1,390 grams emphasizes its solid construction. The richly ornamented design makes it suitable as both a functional candlestick and a decorative collector's item.

Condition:
Good antique condition with age-related patina and wear to the silver plating. The copper tone is visible in some places, which is common for older silver plate. Please see the pictures, which are part of the description.
