Antique American souvenir teaspoon in genuine sterling silver (925), dated to around the year 1900.
The spoon is decorated with a detailed relief motif of Mount Tacoma (Mount Rainier) in Washington, USA, as well as the text "MT. TACOMA 14,408 FT / NEAR TACOMA WASH". The back is stamped with the maker's mark and "STERLING".
The handle is richly decorated with a detailed relief profile of a Native American (Indian), which is typical for American souvenir spoons from the period.
Stamped "P & B" (Paye & Baker, USA) and "STERLING", documenting genuine 925 silver.
Silver souvenir teaspoons were popular in the late 1800s and early 1900s and were sold as exclusive travel mementos.
