Beautiful vintage figurine as a mini cheese dome in hand-painted faience from Belze – Original Bunzlau, West Germany, approx. 1950–60s. Decorated in classic Bunzlau style with cobalt blue “peacock eye” pattern on off-white glaze. Light faience with a beautiful, authentic patina.
The tradition originated in Bunzlau (today Bolesławiec, Poland), where this characteristic blue decoration was developed in the 19th century. After World War II, West German workshops like Belze continued the original Bunzlau tradition — hence the designation "Original Bunzlau".
Stamped Belze and Original Bunzlau inside. Underneath the base is an old hotel label from Alpenhotel Heimspitze – Familie Thöny, Montafon (Austria), typical for hotel ceramics of that time. But under the label is the original Belze stamp.
- Height: approx. 10 cm
- Diameter approx. 9.5 cm
Condition: Appears in great condition with no damage, but with natural patina in the form of faience crazing.
