Erik Höglund paperweight/letter press in clear glass with robot motif fea Boda Glasbruk (today Kosta Boda), Sweden.
Cast in a square shape with the motif pressed into the hot glass – a technique that gives the characteristic relief motif for which Höglund became world-renowned.
Can be used as a paperweight, jewelry bowl, or decorative collectible.
Perfect for the design enthusiast with a taste for Scandinavian mid-century art glass.
Erik Höglund (1932–1998) revolutionized Swedish glass art with his raw, naive style, inspired by folk art and primitive expressions. He worked at Boda Glasbruk from 1953 to 1973 and received the Lunning Prize in 1957 as the youngest ever recipient. His works are exhibited at the Nationalmuseum in Stockholm, the Blekinge Museum and the Cooper Hewitt Design Museum in New York.
