Ceramic terracotta jar with copper green glaze and strong relief – Southern Europe

Ceramic jar handmade and made of red-fired earthenware, terracotta with distinctive relief decoration and in copper-green color, probably Southern European and from the mid-1900s.

The shape is inspired by medieval and archaic design with a thick, corrugated base, incised decoration and hand-shaped handle. The copper-green verdigris glaze gives a patinated, almost bronze-like appearance.

A distinctive piece of studio ceramics with a sculptural character, suitable as a decorative object.

Goal:

• Height approx. 13.5 cm
• Diameter approx. 8.5 cm without handle

Condition: Good, beautiful vintage condition with natural patina. Small chips in a few places, but not overtly visible in the basic shape and relief.

No cracks or through-going damage.
