Ceramic terracotta jar with copper green glaze and strong relief – Southern Europe

Ceramic jar, handmade from red-fired earthenware, terracotta, with striking relief decoration and in a copper-green color, likely Southern European and from the mid-20th century.

The shape is inspired by medieval and archaic design language with a strong, corrugated base, incised decoration, and a hand-formed handle. The copper-green verdigris glaze gives it a patinated, almost bronze-like appearance.

A distinctive piece of studio pottery with a sculptural character, suitable as a decorative item.

Condition: Good beautiful vintage condition with natural patina. Small chips in a few places, but not overtly visible due to the shape and relief.
