Niels Huang ceramic jug 22 cm, signed

Sculptural jug/vase in high-fired stoneware by the Danish ceramist Niels Huang.

The striking, architectural form with the long, narrow pouring spout is characteristic of Huang's sculptural works created using the extrusion technique.

Signed with three distinct stamps:
• Round artist's seal
• Square Niels Huang stamp
• Chinese name stamp

Niels Huang works with an ancient Chinese technique called extrusion, where clay is pressed through a shaping nozzle. This technique creates the characteristic architectural forms that distinguish many of his works.

Niels Huang is a co-founder of CLAY Ceramics Museum Denmark (formerly Grimmerhus), and his works are still sold through selected galleries and CLAY's museum shop.
