Sarreguemines - Carmen, dinner plates 22 cm, French antique (several variants)

Antique French faience plate from Sarreguemines in the Carmen decor. Decorated with fine botanical motifs and butterflies in brown transfer decoration.

The decoration varies from plate to plate – the placement of flowers and butterflies is different, giving each plate its own expression.

Stamped U&C Sarreguemines on the back (Utzschneider & Cie), produced in France in the late 19th century and early 20th century.

Stand
Fine antique condition with age-related patina and light cracking in the glaze, typical of faience from the period. The backs vary in patina.
