Art glass bowl in mouth-blown glass, green and white - midcentury design

Elegant vintage small bowl in mouth-blown art glass - perhaps Murano - but not marked. Made in deep green with white glass and dark contrasting edge. The bowl has an organic, asymmetrical shape with decorative hand-shaped extension on the side, which emphasizes the handmade expression.

The design is characteristic of the mid-century period and the bowl was originally part of a larger serving set with several small bowls and a large central bowl, used for snacks, fruit or nuts.

The bowl is often mistakenly sold as an ashtray, but it lacks a cigarette holder and is clearly intended as a serving or decorative bowl.
