Art glass bowl in mouth-blown glass, green and white - midcentury design

Elegant vintage small bowl in hand-blown art glass - possibly Murano - but not marked. Made in deep green with white glass and a dark contrasting edge. The bowl has an organic, asymmetrical shape with a decorative, hand-formed pull-out on the side, which emphasizes its handmade look.

The design is characteristic of the mid-century period, and the bowl was originally part of a larger serving set with several small bowls and a large central bowl, used for snacks, fruit or nuts.

The bowl is often mistakenly sold as an ashtray, but it lacks cigarette notches and is clearly intended as a serving or decorative bowl.
