Beer mug porcelain with pewter lid with lithophane base in 'Blue Onion' decoration.

Classic European porcelain beer mug with cobalt blue onion pattern decoration and metal pewter lid. At the bottom of the mug is a lithophane relief motif with a romantic scene, which becomes clear when the bottom of the mug is held up to the light.

This type of beer mug is often seen in German porcelain production in the first half of the 20th century and is a classic collector's item within beer steins.
